Jason Walker, a Lifelong Animal Advocate

A lifelong animal lover, Jason has always donated a portion of his commission to animal charities and rescue work. In 2016 Jason was asked by the founder of the Rescue Paw Foundation if he would help transport at risk dogs from China. Within a week he was on a plane to Shanghai, and he’s never looked back.

Among other charities, Jason is an active member of Elephants World, a self-supporting Environmental Conservation Organization caring for domestic elephants situated just outside Kanchanaburi, Thailand and No Dogs Left Behind, a non-profit fighting the global war against animal cruelty. Volunteers work together fighting on the front lines to rescue dogs from the illegal dog-meat trade. No Dogs Left Behind works hands-on with local activists through emergency response, pulling dogs directly from slaughterhouses, dog meat trucks, wet markets and traffickers.

No Dogs Left Behind’s mission extends beyond borders worldwide, advocating for the creation and enforcement of animal welfare laws, and raising awareness for a cruelty-free, sustainable world in which no animal is violated, exploited, tortured or slaughtered for commercial goods or profit.

Additionally, Jason works closely with Best Friends Animal SocietySouthampton Animal Shelter, and Elephants World.

Rescue Stories

  • More rescue dogs from China’s meat trade arrive in NYC

A second shipment of dogs, all rescued from China’s meat markets, have landed at JFK Airport — their wagging tails and happy yelps saying everything about how thrilled they were to become “Americans.” Saturday’s batch of 45 dogs arrived from Beijing via Air China on Saturday afternoon.

They were greeted with hugs and treats by their eager new adopters, some of whom have waited the better part of a year to meet their pooches. The dogs were saved by No Dogs Left Behind, which operates a shelter in Beijing and works to save dogs from China’s meat markets.

The Incredible Team Effort to Rescue 121 Dogs

Since 2009, it is estimated that as many as 10,000 dogs and cats have been tortured and killed each year at China’s Yulin Meat Festival. Many Chinese citizens have vehemently petitioned against the event and it is not endorsed by the local government, but neither are there any animal cruelty laws on the books in China.

Jeffrey Beri of No Dogs Left Behind, in partnership with a network of volunteers, risks his life to do the dangerous but critical work of rescuing dogs in advance of their imminent slaughter as part of the global dog meat trade.

  • Jason Walker’s Mission to Rescue Dogs

Amidst his fast-paced schedule selling New York City’s most luxurious real estate, power broker Jason Walker somehow manages to fit in 72-to-96-hour trips to China at least four times a year to aid in the rescue and transport of dogs from the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival slaughterhouses in Yulin, Guangxi.

A lifelong animal lover, Jason has always donated a portion of his commission to animal charities and rescue work. But, about three years ago he began giving his time to dog rescue efforts as well.
